About Me
Hi! I'm Elizabeth Hunt - thank you for visiting Morning Dove Creations.
I have been creating Native American crafts since I was 12 years old. As an artisan, creating many different kinds of crafts has helped me learn so much about my culture and heritage.
My mother, White Fawn, blessed me with the name Morning Dove because I was always a cheerful child (in the morning), even when things around me were not so cheerful. She would show me how to do things and let me go from there, saying that is where my talents lie. And I am grateful to have applied those talents throughout my life.
Morning Dove Creations as a business has been my dream most of my life and I am so pleased to be moving forward towards that dream and starting this website. I hope you check it often to see the many different changes and things that will always be coming.
(PS: My whole family is very talented when it comes to the arts and music, so I like to brag about their work also!)
Rendezvous - I have been carrying on the tradition of presenting annually at The Spirit of Vincennes: Rendezvous, a Revolutionary War Reenactment. My mother started this back in 1979, and now I share the legacy of her with my children, grandchildren, siblings, and dear friends. Here I demonstrate my period-relevant Native American history, alongside my family members in remembrance of White Fawn.
This event has been the main outlet for sharing most of crafts but I'm hoping to pop into smaller artisanal markets so that I have a way to share my other "modern" creations too. Follow my calendar so that you can find me in person!
PS: My family is quite crafty too, check out what they have made here.
